José Omar Torres. Matanzas, 1953. Graduated from National Art School in 1973. From 1976 until 1978, he made studies at Art and Letters Faculty from Havana. Verses, concept and image serve him to offer his own speech of time and memory. Without abandoning his language, the same language which gave him an undoubted personality as artist, he reveals expressive dimensions, he never experienced before. There is a sort of restful tenderness on canvas, a connotative heaviness opening them to a suggestive space of inexhaustible durability.
